ERIC KEME-EGOLUKUMOR, OMARE, LL.B. (Hons.) (Benin), BL, LL.M (Aberdeen, UK), PhD (In view) is the Principal Counsel in the Law firm of E. K. Omare and Company had his legal training in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with Upper Division, Second Class Honours from the University of Benin, Nigeria in 2003/2004. He then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Abuja where he completed his one year compulsory training with Upper Division, Second Class Honours in his Barrister at Law Examination and called the Nigerian Bar in November 2006.
In January 2009 having practiced law since his call to the Nigerian Bar and consultancy jobs in various parts of Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta region, he proceeded to the United Kingdom, where he obtained a Masters of Law (LL.M) degree in Law and Sustainable Development from the prestigious University of Aberdeen, UK in January 2010. He is currently a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Candidate in Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria.
Eric Omare, Esq has represented multinational companies such as Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and Seplat Energy as External and In-House Counsel in maritime, oil and gas, environmental and labour matters and also have deep experience litigating for communities against multinational companies in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Omare has also represented both Petitioners and Respondents in election petition matters including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) both at the Tribunal and on appeal. He also has extensive experience in Appellate practise where he has represented clients in high profiled cases at the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court both in civil and criminal appeals.
His area of specialization includes Environmental Law, Maritime Law, Renewable Energy Law, Oil and Gas law and Electoral Law.
